Impact Strategies completed a new $15.8 million headquarters for the police department in Belleville and is now working to renovate City Hall.
The construction-management firm began working with the city last spring on a solution to the outdated, overcrowded City Hall building at 101 South Illinois Street, which also housed the police department.
The first phase involved transforming a 44,000-square-foot building at 720 West Main Street that the city purchased into a state-of-the-art police department with a forensics lab, dispatch center, sally port, classroom, 911 emergency call center, and storm safety areas for prisoners and employees. Impact also built an adjacent parking garage to accommodate police cruisers and a maintenance area for city vehicles.
Now work has turned to a $2.5 million modernization project at City Hall. Renovations include asbestos removal, accessibility updates and security enhancements.
Impact collaborated with Lawrence Group Architects of St. Louis on both projects.
